Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #2

Hello All!

Today we are discussing Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #2. Based on the featured picture, the sample bottle ( Thanks to Jared! ) is holding Elmer T. Lee (90 Proof ). On the left we have Rock Hill Farms ( 100 Proof ) and Stone River's Blanton's store pick ( 93 Proof ).

In the picture below, ETL is on the right, followed by Blanton's, and then Rock Hill Farms. Hard to tell by the picture, but the RHF is the darker of the 3 ( a little easier to tell in the Glencairn's on the far side.

Elmer T. Lee has a great nose and is a smooth sipper. I can see why it is popular among new comers to bourbon and people looking for a straight forward sipper. It is missing a lot of the flavor of other bourbons of higher proof, but if you are looking for something that is a crowd pleaser this would be it.

For us, the Rock Hill Farms finished 1st, followed by Elmer T. Lee, and then Blanton's. All three of these are great bourbons and also getting harder to find. The Elmer T. Lee is smoother than Blanton's and more approachable. Blanton's is Blanton's, and Rock Hill Farms is just really, really good.
