around 50 dollars and as good as Blantons? Conclusion

Now that we've covered 6 different bourbons separately wanted to have a final conversation regarding all 6 bourbons between each other. As far as close to the favor profile and style of Blantons, we think the John J Bowman Single Barrel is the closest followed by the Old Forester 1910. Russel's Reserve 10 year and then the Michter's Small Batch. Rounding out we have the Evan Williams Single Barrel and the Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. The WR Double Oaked doesn't finish last b/c it's not very good. It's just a different type of bourbon when matched against the Blantons. You'll see what I'm talking about when we rate how good the bourbons are overall in taste and value.

So now we are going to rate the bottles based on what we think is the best tasting. There are some apples and oranges which we'll discuss in a bit. The first is Blantons Stones River store pick. Followed by the John Bowman Single Barrel and the WR Double Oaked. Russel's Reserve 10 year is next followed by the Old Forester 1910. Michter's Small Batch and the Evan Williams Single Barrel finishes last. As you can see, the WR Double Oaked jumped way ahead and the RR 10 leap frogged the 1910 because of the value difference.

For the apples and oranges it's tough to compare a store pick ( Blantons Stone River ) to standard bottles on the shelf. 4 of the six bottles are not advertised as single barrel. There's a $30 dollar price range between the cheapest bottle in the grouping most expensive. Overall, these are all good. For the value in my opinion the RR 10 year is it. For closest experience and if you have a friend that likes Blantons but can never find it, shoot for the John J Bowman single barrel. Just keep in mind that will all single barrels, YMMV.
